God of the Ages,
On this World Day of Prayer, we unite our prayers across our many varied faith traditions as:
We give you thanks for your provision this past year. Even though the past year was difficult for many, we rejoice in the ways you helped lead servants in our community. From healthcare workers who worked to alleviate suffering, to teachers who served in creative ways, to the many more hands and hearts throughout our community who worked tirelessly, unseen or in harms way, we give you thanks for all the professions who sought to serve the common good.
We remember those who died this past year. May you bless families and those who remember them. Thankful for their memory, we praise you for their lives.
We pray for our unity in 2022. We ask that we walk together in peace with all of our brothers and sisters in this new year. May we recognize the giftedness in all peoples and may we serve in humility and grace across divisions. May love shape our life together and may our year be a blessing to others.
Amen.
