This week, members of the Greater Saint Cloud Faith Leaders gathered together to thank Bishop Kettler for his dedication since the group's founding. Bishop Kettler retires next week, but the work of the Faith Leaders will continue.
In 2014, after vandalism at a local Mosque in Saint cloud, Bishop Donald Kettler reached out to several Faith leaders from various other congregations and traditions in the St. Cloud area, and convened a gathering to discuss how the faith community at large could stand in solidarity to support the Muslim community at their time of need. From that initial convening grew the Greater Saint Cloud Faith Leaders group, which has continued to meet monthly since that time. The group has published a number of statements around issues of peace, nonviolence, civility, unity and respect for all races, cultures and religions, as well as held numerous social and reflective events to bring the diverse faith and civic community members together. Through all of it, Bishop Kettler remained a faithful participant and driving force for the group and its work.
